Alaska Operator is a business succession advisory firm based in Anchorage, Alaska. This website describes what we do and lets you apply to the AK Owned registry.

Everything here is general information about business transitions. It is not legal, tax, accounting, investment, or brokerage advice, and reading it does not make you a client.

Alaska Operator is not a broker-dealer, is not a registered investment adviser, and does not sell securities. Nothing on this site is an offer to buy or sell a business or a security.

Any figures, ranges, or timelines described here are illustrative. What a specific business is worth, and what a transition costs or takes, depends on that business.

Engagements are governed by a separate written agreement covering scope, fees, term, and confidentiality. Where that agreement and this page disagree, that agreement wins.

We also acquire businesses from time to time. If we move from advising you to negotiating to buy your business, the advisory engagement ends at that point and we say so in writing. We do not sit on both sides of a table.

Membership is free and covered by the AK Owned member agreement. Certification confirms where ownership lives. It is not an endorsement of any business, a rating of quality, or a recommendation.

Listings are built from information members give us. We verify ownership against public records. We do not audit anything else, and we are not responsible for what a listed business does.

You keep ownership of what you send us. By submitting an application you confirm you are authorized to do so for that business and that the information is accurate, and you give us permission to publish the parts described in the member agreement.

The text, design, and the AK Owned mark on this site belong to Alaska Operator. Members may display the AK Owned mark as described in the member agreement. Using it in paid advertising needs a separate license.

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, Alaska Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this site.

These terms are governed by Alaska law, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts sitting in Anchorage.

We update these terms occasionally. The date at the top is the last change. Material changes affecting AK Owned members go out by email rather than being posted quietly.
